Condolence: To My Aunt Isabel
As Aunt Isabel was the eldest Mirrlees to pass, it makes it even harder to lose her, but memories of the house on Oak Street will never be lost. The smell of Grampa's room at the front of the house all in wood just like a ship's, the old swing at the side of the house hanging from the tree and especially having to go over that old wooden bridge every time we went on or off the property, most of the time with my eyes closed and I think so did dad's, at least that's what he used to tease us about. Aunt Isobel always had the house spotless even though she worked full time and walked to and from work with that fast stride and arm propelling her, you could tell from quite a way back it was her. Over the years, it's very sad that the family is reduced to a Christmas card and a short visit at yet another funeral. The flame gets passed down to another generation with only the should and should haves of getting together for happier times, hearing about stories of everyone growing up and easier, slower moving times - these I think of continually but they just fly by. Aunt Isobel we may not have been there but you and Judy were and are in our thoughts and prayers. May God join you with Ike and you be happy with the rest of your family in heaven. Condolence: I will miss you Isabele. The long battle that you went through is now over and you can rest with your family that have gone before you. Judy you were a good sister looking after Isabelle. She dearly loved you as you did her. Watching you caring for each day of her life in Creedon Valley. Isabele is at peace now. The memories live on. Isabele you were a great lady.
