Life Story for Richard William Warll

Richard William Warll
Following a long and courageous battle with cancer Rick passed away at his home in The Blue Mountains.

Rick is fondly remembered in the ski community as a top instructor trainer (CSIA Level 4 ) and 'teaching children' specialist.

Rick's pride and passion, the "true loves" of his life, were his daughters Jessica and Jacqueline. Sadly missed by his parents Alf and Mary and three sisters Lynn, Lara, and Lisa.

A celebration of life will be held at the Orchard Lodge located at Osler Bluff Ski Club, at 3:30 pm on Sunday February 11, 2018. Dress pants or ski pants, please join us anytime from 3:30 to 6:30.
At 4:00 p.m. come watch a signature ski run to honour Rick followed by sharing of memories.

If you have spent time with Rick in his life and you have a story or memory please share it with us so we may add it to his memoirs.

One of the memories the family cherishes,

Blue Mountain Resorts honored Rick as a HERO.

While working at Blue in the 90's Rick took quick action to skate on his 210 cm skis to overtake and pass a driver-less snowmobile that was speeding down Mogul Alley out of control. Rick then dove to scoop up a child he saw was in the path of the machine. ... just in time as the snowmobile ran over them.

While recovering in hospital with broken bones and severe injuries Rick was visited by Firefighters who thanked Rick for saving the life of the young boy. Rick was later honored as a HERO by Blue Mountain for his life saving action on the snow!
