William Arthur Parkes, CPA
Born December 6, 1935, in Meaford ON, son of Alice Parkes (Lamb), passed away on April 12, 2018, with close family by his side.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday May 5, 2018, from noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion – Collingwood.

Predeceased by his mother Alice, brothers Gordon and Ken, sisters in law Patricia Parkes and Louise Parkes, brother in law Elwood Harbottle. Bill will be remembered by his brothers and sisters, Hazel Harbottle, Harvey (Theresa), and Donald, sisters Shirley Stephenson (Fred), Eleanor Whipps, and his many nieces, and nephews.

Bill spent his early years in Collingwood before he settled in Barrie where he forged his career and started his own business, York Simcoe Accounting. Bill’s steadfast work ethic generated many relationships that he reminisced well into his retirement in 2002. Bill later returned to Collingwood where he quickly made many close friends at the Galleries Condo.

While Bill had no children of his own, he did hold dear his relationship with his dogs Mikey and Cassie.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital would be appreciated. The family wishes to thank the incredible and gifted staff of the hospital for the kindness and care they showed Bill.
