Obituary for Cheryl Lockhart

Cheryl Lockhart
Cheryl Elaine Lockhart passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 1, 2018. Cheryl was born in Collingwood, Ontario to James and Audrey Lockhart.

Cheryl will be remembered by her loving husband David, her wonderful children Andrew (Corrine), Alicia (Jean-Jack), and Jessica, and her granddaughter Lily. She was a special daughter-in-law to Tony and Elizabeth. She was a loving sister of Don, Wayne (Tracy), Patti (Terry), Barb (Jim), and Linda (Mav) and sister-in-law to Linda (Bruce). She was a dear aunt to many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Cheryl was a remarkable nurse for over 30 years at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital, helping bring a countless number of babies into the world. Cheryl loved being a nurse and passionately expressed this through her caring nature to every patient that she crossed paths with. She always went above and beyond for each of her patients, showing that each one was special to her. Cheryl was a role model and mentor in the field of nursing and loved to continue learning about the field. She had recently pursued her PhD in nursing at the University of Alberta. She was also very passionate about helping the future generation of nurses and taught many courses to students at Georgian College.

When Cheryl was not at the hospital, she was dedicating the rest of her life to her family and friends. She loved hosting family gatherings, baking for everyone in her life, knitting and making quilts, her animals and ensuring that her children were always being taken care of. She was truly a special mother, wife, niece, sister, aunt and friend to everyone in the community of Collingwood. She will be dearly missed by all.

A visitation will be held at Fawcett Funeral Home – Collingwood Chapel on Sunday May 6th from 1 – 4 p.m. Her funeral will be held on Monday May 7th at 11:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Nottawa, followed by a reception in the church. In lieu of flowers donations to the Georgian Triangle Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
