Condolence: Brian has been a close friend since I first met him in high school. He was such a good person, he was the absolute best at always keeping in contact over the years. The words that come to mind for me when thinking about Brian are; brave, loyal, steadfast and super fun loving. Some of my best memories of Brian was when he and I took driver’s education classes together (I’m surprised our poor instructor survived), I will never forget driving around in his Chevette as teenagers getting into all kinds of mischief.
I also remember him always being there with us during our early twenties (playing games and drinking beer). He was the most independent of all of us at that age. He always knew what to do in any situation and certainly never shied away from reaching for the first power tool whenever an emergency occurred.
I remember once he dropped in to our place in between trucking excursions and took out his lab-top to share pictures with us of all of his travels. Jeannie and I thought he was going to show us pictures of tourist attractions for all the places he had visited. Instead Brian brought forth pictures of all the traffic accidents he had witnessed (and been a part of) on his travels. He had so many great stories and I will never forget the look of merriment on his face as he talked about all of his adventures. I was always amazed at how determined Brian was with every decision he made in life. Once he set his mind to something there was no stopping him.
I will miss my friend deeply. I will always feel like he should be there whenever all the guys get together. I saw Brian last winter when he was in Ottawa. I knew that he was sick but he didn’t want to talk about it. We played boardgames and laughed and caught up on stuff. It is the way I will always remember him.

My deepest condolences to Brian's family. Know that your son had a great impact on all of his friends and everyone he came in contact with.

Condolence: It's been a long time since I've seen you but from time to time I receive updates from Mom. This is by far the most upsetting update of all. I truly am sorry for your loss!

I can see Brian as if it was yesterday. Hugs to you and your family Penny! xoxo
