Obituary for Neil MacKay
Neil MacKay passed away peacefully on Thursday December 13th, 2018 at Sunset Manor with his daughter Martha and son James by his side.
Neil was born in Edinburgh Scotland on April 29th, 1930 to parents John and Marion. He was a dear father to his children Sarah, James and Martha, as well as their partners Wendy and John. Neil married Kate Carter on June 13th, 1961, and they had a wonderful life together for 56 years.
Neil will be remembered for his kindness, patience, generosity and devotion to family; as well as his love for all animals. His tenacity and strength was evident throughout his long journey with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s, as he never gave up, no matter what he faced.
A service will be held at Sunset Manor on Wednesday December 19th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Georgian Triangle Humane Society, Parkinson’s Society of Canada, and Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
